/ about

Engineer first.
Consultant by necessity.

I'm Lorenzo Maiuri — an AI engineer and software consultant based in northern Italy, working with startups and B2B companies across Europe.

I design and deploy AI systems that actually run in production — not demos, not slide decks. I started writing code at 15, graduated with full marks, and spent three years at Pharmaidea building platforms used by millions.

In 2025 I went independent to focus entirely on AI consulting, while completing my MSc in Artificial Intelligence.

When I'm not shipping: I do theatre, read classical and postmodern literature, and train at the gym. The variety helps — good systems thinking rarely comes from staring at the same screen all day.

Lorenzo Maiuri

The interesting work happens at the boundary between what a model can do and what the business actually needs. That's where I want to spend my time.

02How I work

principles, not buzzwords

// 01
Production beats prototypes

A demo that works in a notebook is not a system. I optimize for what runs reliably under real load — with monitoring, fallbacks, and clear operational boundaries. If it doesn't ship, it doesn't count.

// 02
Business value, not stack flexing

The best architecture is the simplest one that solves the problem. I'll push back on tech you don't need — and double down on what actually moves the metric.

// 03
Direct, async-first communication

Clear weekly updates, decisions in writing, no surprise overruns. You always know what I'm building and why — before it's a problem.

// 04
Long-term thinking, even short-term

I write code other engineers will inherit. Documentation, CI/CD, and clean handoffs are part of the deliverable — not extras billed at the end.
